Warmupreg; is proud to announce the addition of three more accreditations to its long list of safety approvals: CERTIF (Portugal), CSA (CA, USA) and BRANZ (New Zealand). This now makes Warmupreg; floor heating systems the most accredited electric underfloor heating brand worldwide.

Attaining the relevant compliance certificates and accreditations for a company's products is paramount to not only gain confidence in it's supply chain but to gain credibility in the market as whole. In today's highly competitive global markets even the most innovative and advanced products can become "also ran" when they don't meet the standards set forth by a country's relevant accredited certification bodies.

To guarantee the highest safety standards, Warmupreg; underfloor heating systems carry internationally recognised safety marks including BEAB (EU*), Intertek ETL SEMKO (Sweden), VDE (Germany), UL (Worldwide) , KEMA (Netherlands) , FIMKO (Findland), GS (Germany).

With highly regulated markets for electrical and electronic equipment, preparing and submitting products for testing by international product safety agencies can be a complex and time-consuming task. Warmup's focus on producing the safest, and most durable electric underfloor heating systems in the world has eased this process and lead to Warmup's advanced floor heating systems gaining more accreditations worldwide than any other electric underfloor heating brand, with heating solution for almost any floor surface.

The confidence gained from the achieving these internationally recognised standards and Warmup's own product confidence (In the UK Warmupreg; offer a lifetime warranty with our matting and loose wire floor heating systems ) have helped Warmup become the best-selling electric underfloor heating brand in the world.

Drawing the viewer in with a sense of involvement, reality TV serials featuring property conversions by DIY enthusiasts, architects and interior designers have taken a strong foothold in the UK.

In Germany the concept has taken off too and, abound with handy tips for the homeviewer, formats such as "Live your wish - the House" on VOX, "Dreamhouse" in the Bavarian broadcast and "In Luck At Home" on RTL2 are increasingly popular.

"In Luck At Home" is a program that frequently focuses on families who, either through illness or adverse circumstances, are no longer able to revamp their homes and in the 53rd episode, the Dittrich family decided to install an electric underfloor heating system under a laminate floor. That way, the familys son, who wasnt well, would be able to practice movement exercises on a pleasantly warm floor. No more problems with the cold!

The heating system consisted of an aluminum foil mat, in which an electrical heating conductor was embedded. The heating mat was simply unrolled onto the acoustic insulation and covered with the laminate panels.

Warmup offers the latest technology with a glassfibre-reinforced aluminum foil heating system. It is suitable for installation under all floating laminate and multi-layer parquet floors, where the floor mat is not nailed or stuck to the subfloor. It can even be made to measure. The foil heater is available in standard outputs of 80 W/m sup2; and 140 W/m sup2;, has a width of 0.50m and is just 1mm thin. It is operated by the programmable, user-friendly Warmupreg; XSTAT thermostat, which comes with both air and floor temperature sensors.

Dr Simon Newberry: Raising the profile of electric UFH

The Ramp;D Director of Warmupreg; Underfloor Heating, Dr Simon Newberry, has been elected the new Chair of Technical Committee of UHMA for 2009.

It is the first time an electrical UFH committee member is holding this post.

Dr Newberry has been an active committee member for several years while representing Warmup, and has a wealth of experience dispensing advice on electrical issues as part of the UHMA Technical committee.

As part of his new role, his duties will include providing direction for technical issues for the coming year and helping to coordinate general UHMA matters.

Since the majority of the members comprised manufacturers of hydronic UFH, the association has naturally focused more on wet systems. In his new capacity, Dr Newberry aims to raise the profile of the electrical side of the industry, ensuring regulatory changes are not detrimental to the industry as a whole and that consumers get correct technical information from the committee.

Thanks to stringent prerequisites, all UHMA members are already proven safe in terms of product quality and installation methods. Now that Dr Simon Newberry is involved in regulatory changes, Warmupreg; Underfloor Heating systems can be counted on more than ever to be of the highest standards in material excellence and orthodox practices.

Here is a quick interview with the man himself:

How did you come into this position?I was asked to do it as I have been an active committee member for several years.

Who nominated you amp; why did the position become available?I was nominated by Chris Ingram the 2009 Chairman of the UHMA, and then voted in at the last AGM (10th December 2008) by the General UHMA Committee (which comprises all the members).

Is this for a contracted period only or a permanent position? This position is an annual posting (in this case Jan 1st 2009 to Jan 1st 2010), though I could be asked or nominated to do it again.

What was your role previously? I represented Warmup as a committee member of the UHMA. I was also on the Technical committee and advised on Electrical issues.

What will you be responsible for now? Chairing the Technical Committee. Also in providing direction for technical issues for the coming year. I will also be helping to coordinate general UHMA issues.

You are Ramp;D Director at Warmup; how will you balance your responsibilities with Warmup with the interests of other underfloor heating companies? All the members are Directors or senior managers of underfloor heating companies.

Although I am there as a member due to Warmup, my role is to represent the industry as a whole and to ensure technical issues are handled correctly and fairly. If a conflict arises, the welfare of the industry must be the primary consideration.

What are the criteria for joining UHMA? To join the UHMA, the company needs to have the correct credentials. They have to provide proof that all their products are "sound", compliant with all the relevant regulations and that the company provides all the appropriate materials to ensure safe and proper implementation of their systems.

What are the benefits of being a UHMA member? Representation in the industry via regulatory boards and committees as opposed to being a passive industry member. This leads to being involved and advised on regulatory changes.

Promotion of UFH while ensuring fair practice.

Are there new changes you plan to implement? What are the key objectives/issues you'll like to tackle as the new Chair of Technical Committee? As the UHMA has been predominantly hydronic UFH, my aims are as follows:

To promote the inclusion of the electrical side of the industry

To ensure regulatory changes are not detrimental to the industry as a whole

To ensure consumers get correct technical information from the committee

Who are the members made up of currently? A full list is available at http://www.uhma.org.uk/members

Industry leader, Warmup Inc, announced today that their Carbon Heating System ranks #32 on Qualified Remodeler Magazines prestigious TOP 100 List. From thousands of products featured every year in Qualified Remodeler, Warmups Carbon Heating System was one of the most often requested by their subscribers.

Warmup exclusively offers the only UL Listed carbon heater in North America, for engineered wood and laminate flooring to provide primary or secondary heating without warping or cold spots. The low-profile heaters are custom cut and delivered to the site within five business days from receipt of the order. The simple-to-install panels come in both 12 and 36 inch widths for excellent area coverage and in 120VAC and 240VAC for use throughout the home or office.

The ultra thin (thinner than a dime) panels have pre-spaced one-inch parallel carbon strips distributing heat safely and evenly, providing a uniform heat distribution, to prevent warping. Thermostatically controlled, with a self-regulating feature means the system will only reach a maximum temperature of 85ordm;F/26.5ordm;C, providing luxurious warmth with design freedom. No other heater on the market heats laminated floors more evenly and efficiently.

For fuel efficiency, Warmup heating systems operate via an Energy-Star rated programmable thermostat which includes an energy-monitoring feature. To maximize the systems energy efficiency, Warmup also sells R2 insulation boards, heating a room up to 10 times faster on both cement and wood subfloors.

Sharon Mangino, General Manager for Warmup Inc, based in Connecticut said ldquo;It is an honor to be part of Qualified Remodelers Top 100 List. At Warmupreg;, we work continuously to offer cutting edge, yet affordable floor heating solutions.rdquo;

ldquo;With the popularity of laminate and engineered wood flooring, we have seen rapid growth in the sales our radiant heating range from builders and contractors wanting to add affordable luxury to their projects. Sales have far exceeded our expectations since its launch last year. The response to our entire underfloor heating range has been enormous, says Mangino.rdquo;

Warmups underlaminate heaters complement their ADEX award-winning matting system and loose wire system for ceramic tile and stone.

Warmups trained staff offers a free quote and layout service, turned around the next business day, once exact area measurements are faxed or e-mailed to them.

The company offers unparalleled 24/7 toll-free hotline customer service support for any problems or installation questions. In addition to a 30 year product warranty, their unique SafetyNet Installation guarantee offers to replace, free of charge, a heater accidentally damaged during installation (terms and conditions apply).

This award goes to a manufacturer or designer who has exceeded expectations in taking their products to international markets and is London's only international business awards programme. The award recognises the successes of the capital's SMEs in trading internationally under UK Trade amp; Investment's (UKTI) Passport to Export programme. To win, Warmup demonstrated a clear indication of future plans and commitment to consolidate and/or increase international sales and the company has shown evidence of how an international trade strategy has translated into results.International director Howard Flood attributes the success to lsquo;going back to basics. ldquo; We asked ourselves who the decision maker is,rdquo; he said. ldquo; We made sure we were talking to the right people. We also targeted our sales and marketing materials to explain the benefits of our system and made sure we were attending the right trade shows to gain exposure to those people. We had our brochures and installation manuals translated to make the information even more accessible.rdquo;ldquo;Local knowledge is important and so is having people who speak the language, rdquo; Flood continued. ldquo; The formula we have in the UK does not necessarily work elsewhere. The UK has a big DIY market and people are prepared to spend weekends installing a system whereas in Latin countries we have a network of installers because people dont want to do it themselves.ldquo;Although they are thought of as warm countries, Spain and Portugal have been very good markets for us. They have a lot of ceramic and marble flooring, which gets cold in winter. With our systems you can take the chill off without having a full central heating system.rdquo;ldquo;High service levels are essential. We typically respond to inquiries with an emailed quote within 24 hours. By taking this approach and following these simple procedures we have grown the Spanish market ten fold and the US is 30-40 per cent up.Even prior to joining Passport to Export, Warmup had already started exporting to Germany and the US. In the past 18 months the company has received orders from 12 further countries. With all of this growth more space was needed. Warmup has moved its headquarters in the UK to larger factory and office premises, where a night shift has been introduced to step up production to keep pace with increased demand. In addition, new sales staff had been hired and more appointments are planned later this year.Ideal for almost any flooring, Warmups extensive range of BEAB-approved heating systems is used in kitchens, bathrooms and conservatories and are backed by industry-leading warranties. Celebrity clients include actor and film director Jackie Chan in Hong Kong and Daryl Worley, a country and western star from Nashville, Tennessee.

Danbury, CT ndash; Warmup Inc, a leading suppliers of electric under floor heating systems, was selected to feature on CNNs highest rated show Open House recently to explain and demonstrate the benefits of the growing trend in radiant heat. With the raising interest in under floor heating, CNN approached Warmup, headquartered in Danbury Connecticut, to show just how easy it is to install and affordable to run.Sharon Mangino, Managing Director at Warmup said ldquo; We have seen a significant growth in the radiant heat market in the US over the past few years. As more people remodel and improve their homes, radiant heat is seen to be a key feature that offers luxurious warmth and significant resale value, yet is affordable to install and operate. It runs independently from the central heating on its own thermostat, so you control where and when the floors are set warm.rdquo;ldquo; As more homeowners lay tiles, stone, laminate and engineered wood throughout their home, Warmup has a range of ultra-thin heating systems that gently warm the different floor surfaces. We just launched our state-of-the-art carbon heater for laminate and engineered wood flooring and the response has been overwhelmingrdquo;, Mangino said.Warmup systems can be used to take the chill off the room or in some circumstances as a sole source of heating, thereby offering more design freedom. Running costs for an average room are the equivalent of three 100 watt light bulbs to operate. The Energy-Star rated thermostat controls the system and monitors energy consumption. As a leader in the radiant heating market with unparalleled industry warranties, Warmup provided viewers with a walk-through interview of their offices, explained the difference between tile and laminate heaters and concluded with a demonstration on how quick and easy it is to install with no special skills or tools needed. All you need is an electrician to wire up the thermostat. You can see a video clip of this feature by going to warmup.com and clicking on the icon ldquo;Warmup - As seen on CNNrdquo;.Warmupreg; is a global supplier of floor heating products since 1994 and manufactures their own heaters in the UK, ensuring the highest quality products.
