Flooring

Warmup® Underlaminate Heater can be used under wood, laminate or carpet flooring.

Under carpet:

Under laminate/wood:

* see below for recommendations and details on non-compressive insulation materials.

Warmup® Underlaminate Heater should be used in conjunction with either hard or soft insulation material depending on your subfloor characteristics:

Hard Insulation Material

Hard insulation material is used under the heating mat in stone type floors for efficient heating.  The material comes in plates, usually made from Polyrethane or Polystyrene and should have compression strength of more than 28PSU (2kg/cm²).  The R value of the material should be in the range of 0.57-1.7ft²*hºF/Btu (0.1-0.3 m²ºC/W or 1-3 Tog).

Warmup recommends the use of at least 10mm Warmup® Insulation Boards or similar construction boards.  For other insulation materials please consult your construction material dealer.

Soft Insulation Material

Soft insulation material is to be used under the heating mats in all non-stone type floors for efficient heating.  The material comes in rolls and should have compressive strength of more than 0.28PSI (0.02Kg/cm²). The R value of the material should be in the range of 0.57-1.7ft²*h*ºF/Btu (0.1-0.3 m²*ºC/W or 1-3 Tog).

Warmup recommends the use of 6mm thick Depron®.  For other insulation materials please consult your construction material dealer.
