Ribera del Marlin, Spain

Nature of Project:  Residential
Location: Marina de Sotogrande, parcela 5-6/P.2. Sotogrande. San Roque (CÁDIZ)
Developer: Residencial Marlín, S.L., Grupo Sotogrande.

When developer B Solis Constructora decided to build a residential estate on the golfing heaven of Sotogrande in Cadiz, they needed to create something in keeping with the expectations of the affluent clientele that frequented the area.  Their property therefore had to be not just functional but luxurious in detail.  Bathrooms were a good starting point but with 444 of them, clearly they needed affordability too.  Designer furnishings were de rigor, but with space being typically a premium in bathrooms, they considered foregoing heating so he could omit radiators.

The Solution
Warmup suggested underfloor heating - stylish without compromising on function.  In fact, it would significantly enhance the living conditions of the homeowner.  Laid under the expanse of the floor, not only is there no need for design-restricting, space-chomping radiators, the heat emitted is far more even and comfortable than with conventional radiators.  It also improves hygiene levels by reducing drafts and airborne allergens.  Warmup electric underfloor heating systems are operated by separate thermostats in individual rooms, which offers more control over the heating, increasing energy efficiency and allowing cost savings of up to 15% as compared to traditional electric radiators.  These advantages are made all the more attractive by how maintenance free the system is.

Warmup’s commitment to excellence in both quality and service echoes the corporate values of B. Solis Constructora, fostering a mutual trust and laying a solid foundation to the working relationship.

The Experience

For B Solis, the process was a breeze right from the start.  Based on their requirements, Warmup worked out the heaters needed, along with a quote that included subfloor insulations and everything else that was needed for the set up of the system, so that there were no nasty surprises for the overall cost.  As part of the full service, Warmup’s skilled technicians even fitted the system so that the developer could be assured of the utmost professionalism in its installation.  Insulation boards were laid down to prevent unnecessary heat loss through the subfloors, followed by Warmup® mats which were rolled out quickly around fixtures before being wired to MSTAT manual thermostats that run off the mains.  Because the systems can be laid straight onto existing subfloors and tiled directly over in a matter of hours, it adds minimal time to the construction of the project as a whole, so the project is still well on schedule for completion before summer 2008.
