Thermostat Wiring Diagrams

Whether you are installing a Warmup Thermostat for central heating or Warmup Controls for hydronic underfloor heating, use our online search tool to find the wiring diagram to match your specific installation configuration.

What Is a Wiring Diagram?

Our Wiring Diagrams offer easy-to- follow layouts, along with clear wiring colors and a detailed legend, to help you successfully connect a Warmup Controller with the heating system it is to control. Diagrams are available for all Warmup Thermostats whether you are installing it as part of a hydronic underfloor heating system, a simple combination boiler configuration or even a multi-zoned central heating system. Use our online tool below to find the correct diagram for your installation.

Different Types of Wiring Diagrams

Please find more information about the differences between installation types in the table below.

Commonly found in properties with only one bathroom. Combi-boilers are self-contained and on-demand units that are comprised of a heat source and heating circuit.
Utilises multiple two-port zone valves, one controls the hot water flow from the heat source to the storage cylinder and the others control various heating circuits, with the flow being pumped by the circulator. This setup allows for zoned heating circuits, allowing independent temperature control.
A single two-port zone valve controls the hot water flow from the heat source to the storage cylinder which is a gravity hot water system. The heating circuits flow is pumped by the circulator.
Uses two two-port zone valves, one controls the hot water flow from the heat source to the storage cylinder and the other one for the heating circuit, with the flow being pumped by the circulator. This setup allows for independent operation of either the heating or hot water circuits.
A single three-way mid-position valve controls the hot water flow from the heat source to the storage cylinder or heating circuit, with the flow being pumped by the circulator.

Finding the Correct Wiring Diagram

The Wiring Diagram Tool below allows you to specify your exact Warmup Thermostat and heating system configuration.

First step
Select the Model

Firstly, select the Warmup Thermostat Model you are installing. Diagrams are available for all models from the dial-based MSTAT to the technologically advanced 5iE Wireless Smart Thermostat.

First step
Choose the Heat Emitter

Next, choose the Heat Emitter: whether you are working with a hydronic underfloor heating system or a central heating system. A combination of both is also possible.

First step
Select the Switching Type

The Switching Type offers either Switched Live or Volt Free options. Switched Live meaning the Thermostat switches the supply voltage when calling for heat, Volt Free meaning the thermostat switches any voltage (not exceeding 230VAC) supplied by the heat source when calling for heat.

First step
Select the Installation Type

The installation type refers to the installed heating plan. Most systems (apart from a Combination-Boiler system) are comprised of a heat source, a circulator/pump (which can be either internal in the heat source or external), a hot water storage cylinder (normally found in the airing cupboard) and the heating circuit itself
