Why does my thermostat trip when I switch on my Underfloor heating ?

The underfloor heating system will trip the RCD if a fault has been detected.

An electrician will need to test the system and ensure that it is not an issue with the RCD or electrical installation.

A resistance test across live and neutral should be completed and the reading should be checked against the values in the installation manual for your system. If you do not get a reading (open circuit) this indicates that there is a break in the underfloor heating system.

An insulation resistance test should also be carried out across the Live / earth and Neutral earth at 500V, a pass will be greater than 200 mega ohms.

If the heater fails either of these tests contact Warmup support for further assistance.
