Can I use one thermostat to control multiple Foil Heaters ?
Yes. A single thermostat can control multiple foil heaters, provided they are all installed within the same heating zone or room and the total electrical load remains within the thermostat’s rated capacity.
Most underfloor heating thermostats are designed to control loads of up to 16 amps. In many cases, a maximum of two foil heaters can be connected directly to the thermostat. If additional heaters are required or the combined electrical load exceeds the thermostat’s capacity, a suitable contactor or relay should be used as part of the installation.
For safe operation and reliable performance, always calculate the total connected load before installation and ensure the system complies with the thermostat manufacturer’s specifications and local electrical regulations.
