Can the DCM-PRO System Help Prevent Cracked Floor Tiles?
Yes. The DCM-PRO system is designed to help reduce the risk of cracks developing in tiled floors by incorporating a decoupling membrane that absorbs movement between the subfloor and the tiled surface.
As buildings naturally expand and contract due to changes in temperature and moisture, the subfloor and floor finish can move at different rates. Without a decoupling layer, this movement may place stress on the tiles and grout, increasing the likelihood of cracks over time.
The DCM-PRO anti-fracture membrane helps isolate this movement, reducing the transfer of stress to the finished floor. It has also been independently tested for crack isolation performance in accordance with ANSI A118.12, demonstrating its ability to withstand lateral movement while protecting tiled floor installations.
While no system can completely eliminate the possibility of cracks, using a decoupling membrane can significantly improve the durability and long-term performance of tiled floors when installed correctly.
