How Many Heating Mats or Panels Can Be Connected to One Thermostat?
The number of heating mats or panels that can be connected to a single thermostat depends on the thermostat’s maximum electrical load rather than the number of heating elements.
Many underfloor heating thermostats have a maximum rating of 16 amps, allowing multiple heating mats or panels to be connected as long as their combined current draw does not exceed this limit. If the total load is higher than the thermostat’s rated capacity, a power relay or contactor should be used to ensure the system operates safely and reliably.
Always check the thermostat’s technical specifications and calculate the total electrical load before connecting multiple heating circuits. This helps ensure safe installation and reliable long-term performance.
